The Faculty is a heavy metal band that was formed in 1991.

History Edit

The name of the band comes from the fact that each of the members worked at schools prior to the band. The original lineup broke up prior to the release of their second EP in 1994, and the new one became permanent after a series of productive recording sessions.

The band lasted until 2003 due to Jim Morales suffering a near-fatal heart attack. He left the group so he could focus on getting healthy, though the group remained active to oversee re-issue deals after signing to Century Media in 2004. Morales finally was up and healthy in 2008 from a Myspace Post.

Style Edit

The band is notable for wearing grotesque costumes, which were designed by John Wink. They were rarely been seen without their costumes, which has built their image overtime. Because of the nature of the artwork for their earlier albums, they rarely ever made it to periodical stores until 2000. They've released four EPs, a split-album and two full album between 1992 and 2003.

The band has cited Megadeth, Metallica, GWAR, Slayer and Tool as influences.
